Features Aurora Monitor

If you want to see aurora borealis / aurora australis / northern lights / southern lights, this application is ideal for you.It provides you with realistic and accurate data about aurora activity. This is one of the first and best applications for aurora hunters.
It often introduces new features, which other similar applications then include. It provides all the data that you need to catch such an awesome view (except cloud coverage) in numbers – higher numbers means better chances.Aurora is a common word for a natural phenomenon (polar lights), which is seen at high latitudes on northern hemisphere (aurora borealis, northern lights), or on southern hemisphere (aurora australis, southern lights). In the app you see:- Current value and forecast of hemispheric power data for both hemispheres for the next hour- Current probability to see aurora at your location in percentage- Current global Kp value- Forecast for Kp value for next 3 days (in 3-hour periods), and next 27 days (daily).- Image of northern and southern hemisphere, which show areas where northern and southern lights are currently visible.Notifications / alerts inform you about current aurora activity and its forecast.
You can turn on/off notifications in application settings. In settings, you can also select the hemisphere for which data is shown (northern hemisphere for aurora borealis / northern light, southern hemisphere for aurora australis / southern lights, or select to watch it both) or switch between light design (used during sunlight) or dark design (better option for using it during the night).NOTE: This application requests your approximate location to provide better service to you, such as the current probability to see aurora overhead, more satisfied notifications, etc. However, if you do not want to allow access to your location, please install Aurora Monitor NoLocation app, which is also available in the store.
Aurora Monitor NoLocation app is the same app as this one, the only difference is that it does not use your location.Version 2.3:* added Hemisphere power data* added Dark screens* simplified Settings menu

What Our Users Say

Don't just take our word for it. Here's what our users have to say about our Android app.

"Simple app that seems effective. Please tell me what 5(G1) means."

Mandy Cook

"This app hasn't been reviewed in ages! Only just downloaded it, but so far it seems good. Simple and functional, shows aurora probability for your location and aurora maps for both hemispheres. Apparently there are also aurora notifications, but I have yet to test those. A question, what do the numbers in the 3 and 27 day forecast charts mean? There are no units. Are they aurora probabilities? I'm too far north, for aurora, and all my numbers are 1-3"

Moana Meyer

"Cant open at all"

Winson lee

"Error loading data. Uninstalled"

Sven Texas

"The pop-up add prevents the app from working . . .constantly flickers as though there's an struggle between the add & the app data. Have to delete it."

Wendy Harman

"Was great but southern hemisphere maps no longer showing."

Joy Tracey

"An update with the proper link to the oval image would be nice"
